Elsner Jardana: Smart Irrigation

Irrigation control for 4 irrigation zones, irrigation computer, automatic watering, irrigation or sprinkling. Setting via WLAN, can be combined with the KNX bus system to further the automation and further adapt to weather conditions, Paired with weather stations, Moisture sensors and float sensors this product can be fully autonimous while staying highly efficent.

This Device is both fully standalone but can also natively integrate into a KNX system, Integrating to KNX gives you access to these bonus features.

Additional Elsner Addons:

• The TMi sensor measures the temperature and moisture content of the soil. The sensor is intended for communication with the Jardana irrigation controller.
• The Ultrasonic Probe KNX SO250 is used for measurement of the fill level of liquids in tanks or for distance measurement. In addition to application areas like rainwater cisterns or fuel tanks, also e. g. fish ponds or wells or the parking distance of trucks can be monitored.The display directly indicates the distance/fill level. The integrated key pad is used for selection of the tank dimensions and setting of two relay switching outputs. When the relays are switched an additional acoustic alarm can be emitted.
• The Windancer KNX(-GPS) weather station for the KNX building bus system measures temperature, wind speed, brightness and detects precipitation. All values can be used to control limit-dependent switching outputs. The states can be linked via AND logic gates and OR logic gates.

After having installed and had a play around with this product these are some of the key things we found with this product. The build quality was very solid, with detatchable bracket that the unit sits on and all the parts the makeup the inside of the unit looks and feel very solid, the outer cover feels good being a thick matte plastic.

Livening the product was a little bit of an issue as it came with a european plug, so we would recommend hard wiring it directly into a suitable IP rated Isolator switch, but if youre installing in a weather proof location you can get a EU – NZ plug adapter. KNX wiring wise you can bring your cable directly into the control box and wire it into the Bus connector on the motherboard.

Setting up the app was intuitive and using was also straight forward and the instruction manual helped clarify a lot. Adding the device into the KNX programming was also simple and everything just worked as it should.
