Summary
Cut the cords because they are no longer needed with Weinzierl’s new Wireless KNX IP interface. I have to admit that I was sceptical at first with this product but once I started using it, I now don’t think I’ll be able to go back. It is powered off the KNX bus and produces its own Wi-Fi network so it’s only a matter of plugging it in. Once you have connected the interface, it instantly appears in ETS and you have access to the KNX install. No more being tethered into the home at the switchboard or data board, but now it’s a matter of sitting on the couch in the living room.
Being able to move around an install with a laptop allows for faster programming and faster debugging. For example, I now am able to have diagnostics open and running while I press a button or cover a lux sensor etc. The device even comes in a rugged custom carry case.
